If your sitting in the kitchen eating or cooking or maybe typing like me on your computer and look through the window and see dirt on the windows can just ruin the view.
Cleaning it can be quite easy if you have the right equipment and soap.
The method I use is quite simple and easy, and your windows will be clean in no time, and you won’t have to pay anyone to clean them, because window cleaners can be really expensive. This process will include how to clean both the inside and the outside of your windows.
Cleaning the outside of the windows at the lower section of the house will be easy, but the top will take a little more effort.
You will need a few tools to do the job. They’re not expensive plus you can use them to do other projects at your house.
I do this on a day when it’s not that cold or hot because the soap will dry on the windows in no time if the sun is really hot that day.
You will be surprised how hard it’s going to be to get that soap marks off.
Streaking? You might be saying this happens to me all the time when I clean any windows in my house.
There is a walk around for this though, just adding 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol to the mixture that I will tell you about that will make such a big difference.
What You Will Need
A Libman Mop – This is an amazing tool to have at home because it can be used to do so much stuff. Clean your floors and lots more. You can use the mob below also.
Rubbing Alcohol – You will need this to add to the mixture for the cleaner to prevent streaking from forming on your windows when cleaning it.
Micro-fiber Cloth – You will need this to wipe the windows down if you rather that than letting them air dry.
Dawn Dish Soap – This is the second key ingredient in the mixture that will make your work so much easier.
Squeegee– You will need this to clean the inside sections of the windows.
Hose – You will definitely need this to wet and wash the windows off.
Now that you see what you will want, I will tell you how I clean the windows without a problem
.
Methods
First, I wet the windows with some water to soften up anything on the windows; then, I add three-tablespoon dawn in a Spray bottle then add 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol. You can add the water to the spray bottle now.
Spray two windows at once with the mixture above, do not go over this because the soap will dry by the time you reach the rest. You can now use the Libman Mop to scrub the windows off.
Make sure to wash the top windows before the bottom. When you are done with those, use the hose and wash the windows off properly.
Let the windows air dry or wipe them off with a microfiber cloth.
For the window that is high up and you can’t reach them, you might be thinking that you will need to get a ladder, but you don’t.
You might see window cleaners doing it, but that’s because they can use a ladder, and you wouldn’t want them just to be walking around in your house going to each window and maybe making a mess because they wouldn’t be as cautious as you not to make a mess.
Here is the process to clean the windows that are high up
First, you will need to go to each window that you can access and move whatever furniture that might be blocking them and remove the screen.
This will make it much easier for you to clean them and safer as well. If you have the windows, have both sections that can side up and down that will make it even better for you.
These windows won’t be that messy, so you won’t have to clean them that much as the ones at the bottom. This part can be a bit tricky, but it works for me, I slide the inner window up to get access to the one at the top.
I then clean it with the Libman mop along with the cleaning solution. What I find work best is using the cleaning solution and a squeegee, it’s more flexible. You can use whichever one that works best for you.
At this time, you will need to use a squeegee to clean it off because handling a hose that high will make it even more hectic for you.
After you clean that window, slide it back to the top and slide the inner window up a bit so that your hand and the squeegee can go through.
Do the same process as above; there will be a section at the top of that window that you can’t reach, so just use the squeegee and clean that section.
As I said above these windows will not be that hard to clean became there so high up, maybe you don’t have to clean them at all.

Using the same cleaning mixture you use on the outside, you can use it to clean the inside of the windows with a squeegee.
Spray some of it on the window then use a sponge or the same Libman mop to scrub it off if you have enough space to move it around. If not, you can use a sponge that you have in the kitchen to do so.
The best part about cleaning the inside is that you will not need to hose down the windows. All you need to do is use the squeegee to clean it off, which will take you less than 10 seconds to do so.
If you want to clean the window screens during the process all you need to do is spray the cleaning mixture on the screen and use a broom to cleaning it off, A few brushes with the broom will do the job, you can just use the hose to wash it off, and you are done.
